Course outline for B.Ed.
The course offered by SCOE is a one year fulltime Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme through Rani Channamma University, Belgaum. The programme is split into two Semesters. Each semester consists of 16 weeks duration. It involves an average of 26 period of instruction per week.

SCHEME OF INSTRUCTION.
In the first semester there shall be 7 papers (4 Core papers + 2 MOTs + 1Computer Education) and Practicum related to practice teaching and to Community Oriented Activities. In the second semester there shall be 7 papers (4 core papers + 2 MOTs + 1 optional paper) and Practicum related to practice teaching and community oriented activities. Each paper shall carry 100 marks except the papers in Methods of Teaching (MOTs) which shall carry 75 marks.
Semester end examination of 3 hours durations for 80 Marks. |

Admission Procedure.
B.Sc, B.A graduates from any recognized university are eligible for admission to the one year full time B.Ed programme, provided they have secured at least 50% aggregate Marks in the 3 year degree as the case may be (45% for students belonging to SC/ST, Physically handicapped and Cat I.)
Note:- The candidate should produce all the certificates in original at the time of admission.
Selected candidates belonging to universities other than Rani Channamma should produce an eligibility certificate from Rani Channamma University, Belgaum. on payment of necessary fees after showing their original credentials to them.

They must also produce the migration certificate.

Eligibility for Admission :
|
- All candidates must be graduate with B.A. or B.Sc and shall have studied any one of the languages and two of the three electives (optionals) specified below.
|
- Languages : Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Sanskrit.
|
- Electives/Optionals : Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathemetics, Histroy, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Economics, English, Kannada, Urdu, sanskrit.

- All the candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate of all the three years of degree including electives and languages,excluding internal assessment marks and class examination marks. But SC/ST/CAT.-I/Physically handicapped candidates should have obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate of all the three years of degree including electives and languages,excluding internal assessment marks and class examination marks.
